ERC Experience: Zooming in PE

Sara Bagherifard is Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. Following her PhD in Mechanical Systems Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, She held multiple research associate, postdoctoral fellow and visiting positions at University of Cambridge (UK), Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology (US) and Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).Her research focuses on solid state deposition, additive manufacturing, repair technologies, and advanced surface treatments aimed at improving the functionality and structural integrity of metallic and hybrid materials. Prof. Bagherifard has received ERC-Consolidator grant (2021) and has been the PI or WP leader of various European, National and industrial projects including three EIC-Projects, ERC-PoC and a MSCA-DN-project.
