Abstract

This workshop aims to provide participants with an opportunity to engage in discussions on technological
change and its impact on both the labour market and the characteristics of the labor supply and the
demand side embodied by firms’ innovation capacity. The event will offer a moment of reflection on the
state of the art in economic and sociological research on technological change and its consequences,
highlighting both areas of convergence and differences in theoretical and empirical approaches. The
workshop will feature contributions from esteemed researchers—economists and sociologists—from
leading Italian universities and research centres, who will present their studies and research agendas.
Their presentations will be followed by discussions and interventions from attendees. The invited
speakers include Valeria Cirillo (University of Bari), Wessel Vermeulen (Organisation for Economic Co-
operation and Development – OECD, Trento), Paolo Agnolin (Bocconi University), and Lorenzo Bernabei
(University of Trento).
In the afternoon session, a Panel Discussion will take place, focusing specifically on Wages, Productivity,
and Sustainable Development in Trentino. The panel will bring together representatives from Trento
University, the Bank of Italy, the OECD, social partners, the Autonomous Province of Trento and the
Chamber of Commerce.
