Artificial Life is the study of human-made artifacts that exhibit behaviors characteristic of natural living systems. We study such systems to understand the concept of life beyond Earth-based biology by identifying universal principles of living systems. This presentation will give examples of artificial life systems from computer science to chemical systems to the cutting edge design of biological and enzymatic systems.
