Abstract:
To achieve national Net Zero targets and goals, we need proactive involvement of the industrial sector, while integrating the needs and perspectives of local communities and nature protection considerations. In the West of England, a number of public and private organisations have come together to form a partnership to work collaboratively with businesses and the community to develop a local industrial decarbonisation plan (LIDP) for the West of England Industrial Cluster (WEIC). Dr Laura De Vito (University of the West of England, Bristol), is carrying out foresight work for this project and in this seminar will present preliminary results and lessons learnt on how to create a future-regarding and place-based partnership that involves multiple stakeholders in the journey towards net zero.
