This seminar focuses on energy storage systems and battery management strategies in electric vehicles.
The session will provide an overview of the main types of batteries used in automotive applications, discussing their characteristics, performance, and evaluation criteria. Particular attention will be given to Battery Management Systems (BMS), with a focus on dynamic management and cell balancing techniques.
Both passive and active balancing methods will be presented, highlighting their role in optimizing battery performance, safety, and lifecycle.
Participants will gain insight into the key challenges and solutions related to battery efficiency and reliability in modern electric vehicles.

José Antonio Domínguez Vázquez is Associate Professor at the University of Valladolid, with a long-standing academic career in electronic technology and electric mobility. His research focuses on electric vehicle systems, energy efficiency, and battery management. He has coordinated numerous industrial research projects and contributed to innovation in renewable energy systems and electric mobility technologies.
