Abstract: 

This seminar is meant as an open and interactive conversation on qualitative research methods for the study of "home", at several scales and in different respects. This will start from the presentation of a book project by Boccagni and Kusenbach, tentatively titled Researching Home: Poetics and Politics of Fieldwork in a Special Place. The conversation will involve methodological feedback, suggestions and ethnographic tales from fields as diverse as migration, urban, housing and welfare studies. Content wise, the conversation will start from the book project as well as from the following references: Boccagni & Kusenbach (2020), For a comparative sociology of home, Current Sociology; Boccagni and Bonfanti (eds.)
