Abstract
Our cognition is under attack. Hundreds of screens, new technology, distractions continuously vie for our valuable attention. This is the case across the Human Factors spectrum from road transportation to manufacturing to AI. While some see more technology as the one solution, applied cognition research show that the unbridled adoption of the latest gizmos is only bound to make this problem worse. With our cognitive system under attack, what can be done to prevent capitulating?
