Speaker: Dott.ssa Francesca Negrello - Technology Manager, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT)

Robotics and “physical” artificial intelligence are profoundly accelerating production processes, opening up new opportunities but also new challenges in a rapidly changing global context. The issue is no longer whether these technologies will have an impact, but how to make them concretely usable. For this potential to be realized, it is essential to bridge the gap between research and industry.

The JOiiNT LAB collaboration model fits into this direction: a joint laboratory between IIT and Sistema Bergamo that promotes applied research, technology transfer, and training, involving companies and institutional stakeholders in the local area. The results are already tangible: from the transformation of construction sites with the introduction of intelligent cranes, to precision agriculture, and even the remote execution of inspection and maintenance activities in high-risk environments.

The adoption of these solutions is helping to redefine activities, skills, and working models.

Francesca Negrello is a researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology and Lab Manager of JOiiNT LAB, the joint laboratory between IIT and the Intellimech Consortium. Her goal is to identify the most promising technologies developed at IIT and implement them within JOiiNT LAB to create new industrial robotic solutions.
