Speaker: Riccardo Donà - Project Officer at the Joint Research Center (DG-JRC) - European Commission

This seminar explores the current status and future trajectory of self-driving technologies.

The session will address key challenges related to the safe deployment of Automated Vehicles, with a focus on testing, validation, and reliability. It will also examine how close these technologies are to mass-market adoption and which solutions are expected to reach the market in the near future.

In particular, the seminar will address the following questions:

• How can we make sure Automated Vehicles are safe?
• How far are Automated Vehicles from mass-market adoption?
• Which solutions are foreseen to approach the market in the near future?
• How can researchers inform policy-making to deliver better regulations?

Participants will gain a clearer understanding of the technological, regulatory, and societal factors shaping the future of autonomous mobility.
