Our research focuses on understanding the mechanisms contributing to antibiotic treatment failure and developing alternative strategies to combat bacterial superbugs. In this seminar, we will present two distinct projects aimed at addressing the challenge of antibiotic resistance. One project employs experimental approaches to identify targets with low selective pressure, providing the bases for new strategies for alternative treatments. The other project utilizes computational and machine learning methods to identify resistance determinants and uncover additional genes associated with resistance at the genomic level.
