Decomposition of Integral Currents

In this seminar, we will present some of the results from the paper “Decomposition of Integral Metric Currents” by P. Bonicatto, G. Del Nin, and E. Pasqualetto. We will state the Decomposition Theorem, provide a proof in the Euclidean setting, and explain how to generalize it to the setting of complete metric spaces.
We will also characterize indecomposable integral 1-currents and present an application of this result to describe the structure of simple sets in R^2.
