Research Misconduct: Definitions, Cases and Tools for Responsible Research
The Research Ethics and Integrity Office and the INTEGRA Research Group of the University of Trento are promoting this series of meetings with the aim of trying to provide skills and awareness to foster a culture of ethics and integrity across all levels of the academic community.

Research misconduct refers to practices that can compromise the integrity of scientific research. Being able to recognise and distinguish different forms of misconduct is essential for conducting research in an ethical, transparent, and responsible manner and for preserving the reliability of research and trust in it.
The seminar provides a general framework for understanding misconduct, including the relevant definitions and the main regulatory issues, while also examining the ethical perspective and the European dimension. The discussion of concrete cases drawn from experience in scientific research will also highlight the main challenges in research ethics and integrity, as well as the tools for addressing them.
