Abstract
Antonio Cobalti (1943-2025), professor of Sociology in Trento and dean of the Faculty between 1996 and 1999, was a pioneer in the study of education and social mobility. He analysed the professional role of teachers and the relationship between education systems, economics and social integration. In the 1980s, he introduced log-linear models to Italy. He participated in the first national surveys on social mobility, making innovative contributions. His work left a profound mark on Italian sociology.
