Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is set to bring profound transformations in how science is conducted and communicated. This talk with discuss the trends, opportunities, risks and challenges associated with AI from the viewpoint of scientific publishing with a focus on clarifying the present policies and principles at Nature journals and Springer-Nature. 

Biography: 

Oliver is the Chief Editor of Nature Photonics. He joined the Nature Publishing Group (now Springer-Nature) in 2006 in order to launch Nature Photonics in 2007. He has a first-class degree in physics from Imperial College London and a PhD in optical communications from the University of Southampton's Optoelectronics Research Centre. He subsequently joined the Institute of Physics Publishing Ltd., UK where he held several posts in publishing, including editor of the monthly magazine Opto & Laser Europe and its associated website Optics.org.
