The talk will give the chance to get to know the European project and its hot topics from close up with an EU staff.

Starting from how the EU stands up for sustainability and democracy, how the EU is present in our daily lives, how to become an active European citizen, to delve into the role of the European Commission, its core work, priorities and policies. The speaker will be sharing her career path and her personal experience of working at the European Commission.

The talk offers students an opportunity to openly discuss a variety of topics with someone “on the inside” of the EU institutions, to freely express their views about the future of the EU and to be heard. 

 

Bio: Marialuisa Dal Poz works as a Research Programme Officer in the unit for Research and Innovation in the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Commission. Her unit is responsible for the development and implementation of EU research and innovation policy in the area of agriculture, forestry and rural areas. Dal Poz follows in particular the portfolio of social sciences and humanities research projects, supports internal and external communication activities, dissemination of information, and event organisation. Previously, she has been working across different industries from the private to the non-profit sector. She studied modern languages and international relations in Italy, the UK and France.
