Social Change in South Africa. Social Policies Challenges

Abstract

The seminar will focus on analysing certain social changes in post-apartheid South Africa from the perspective of social policy. It will also present the activities developed under the bilateral agreement between Stellenbosch University and the University of Trento, including the opportunities opened up by the agreement for lecturers and students.

Speaker bio

Tasneemah Cornelissen-Nordien teaches in the Department of Social Work at Stellenbosch University. Her research interests include the social impact of AIDS, domestic and gender-based violence, and the decolonisation of the curriculum in South African universities.
