Abstract

Introduction to Natural Language Processing (Salvatore Citraro)

This course provides an introduction to the first steps in Natural Language Processing (NLP). First, it will focus on the pipeline for pre-processing raw text, from tokenization to parsing. Second, it will explore both traditional and modern text analytics tasks, from distributional semantics to topic modeling, and emotion detection, among others. Emphasis is placed on practical implementation with Python libraries, e.g., NLTK, Gensim, and spaCy.

Introduction to Python programming (Giulio Rossetti)

This short, introductory, Python course is designed for beginners with little to no programming experience.
Participants will learn the fundamentals of Python, including variables, data types, loops, functions, and basic file handling. Moreover, it will introduce the basics of data analysis with Pandas. The course emphasizes hands-on practice with real-world examples to build problem-solving skills and confidence in writing Python code.
