Abstract
Caviro Extra is a circular company specializing in the recovery and valorization of waste from the wine and agri-food supply chains.
Part of the Caviro Group, the company collects winemaking by-products from its members which, together with wastewater from food-processing industries, are transformed into high-value products (second-generation alcohol, tartaric acid, and extracts), renewable energy, and natural fertilizers. In this way, the Group’s circular model is achieved: starting from the vineyard — with wine production — and returning to the vineyard in the form of natural soil improvers that enrich the soil with organic matter.
Of the approximately 600,000 tons of by-products entering the Caviro Extra plant every year, more than 99% is recovered and valorized, representing a model of sustainability that is not only environmental, but also economic and social.
