- research
The speakers will provide a complete overview of the legal protection, valorization and use of software, addressing the fundamental issues for those working in the sector. Topics include the legal definition of software and the "preparatory works" necessary for its creation, and the forms of protection provided by copyright law and their practical implications. The software registration mechanisms, the advantages that derive from them and the possibilities of protection as classified company information, including at the international level, are illustrated. The methods of patent protection and strategies for the economical valorization of the software through assignments and licenses are also explored, paying particular attention to open source licenses, dual licenses and solutions for "dual use" software.
The session is divided into four parts:
- 20 minutes with Giuseppe Caputo, head of the Division for the Valorization and Impact of Research, who
will introduce the subject; - 40 minutes with the speakers;
- 30 minutes dedicated to the University regulations and strategies for the exploitation of software;
- 30 minutes for questions.
The webinars will be held in Italian.
