
Max Kistler - Natural Grounding

Max Kistler is Professor of Philosophy of Science at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and member of the Centre d'histoire des philosophies modernes de la Sorbonne (HIPHIMO). His research focuses on the concepts of causality, law of nature, natural species, reduction and disposition. He published, among other works, Causalité et lois de la nature (Vrin, 1999); La philosophie des sciences au XXe siècle (with Anouk Barberousse and Pascal Ludwig, Flammarion, 2000); Dispositions and Causal Powers (Ashgate, 2007); L’esprit matériel. Réduction et émergence (Ithaque, 2016; Eliott, 2023).
